Department of Social Education Copenhagen West is an Institute for Social Educators and preschool teachers in Copenhagen, and a part of University College UCC.

Modern day social educators and preschool teachers need to be capable of cooperation, leadership and independent practice in an environment of creativity, innovation and care. We at Department of Social Education Copenhagen West have organized an education that makes certain demands of the students. Participation in this type of education requires that the student has an ability to work both independently and in groups.
The educational programme requires the ability of working on a theoretical level, and also an ability of opening oneself for personal development. In order to let interest and curiosity be the driving forces behind the studies, the framework opens for the possibility that students may individually choose: the educational content, working partners and study methods.
